It’s rare that I hear a song for the first time and somehow know that it’s destined to be one of my favorites for years to come, but immediately upon discovering Josef Salvat‘s track Hustler, it seems likely to change my life. It resonates so perfectly that it leaves my heart shattered in a ‘holyshit I needed that” sort of way.
Lyrically, it hits the nail on the head so perfectly that any attempt I’ve made to articulate the sentiment he is able to capture with this song only seems to pale in comparison. And musically it’s just delightful. I haven’t found much information about him thus far, but stay tuned. Hustler came out a couple years ago, but evidently quickly disappeared because of copyright issues. His newest release, This Life, is definitely worth a listen, and while it’s no match for Hustler, it shows considerable promise for this elusive young chap.
