Just came across Went Away- a warm, uplifting song from the Maccabees’ latest album, Given to the Wild. They are playing Webster Hall (NYC) on June 13th. I can’t wait. They make me feel better about life.
The video for Went Away is kind of bland, but check out the short film above, it’s quite powerful. The video for Can You Give It is quirky and endearing, while Wall of Arms and Empty Vessels are both pretty heavy. I vaguely remember a fan-made video for Toothpaste Kisses that was totally charming, all paper animation, but I can’t find it to save my life. All I’ve got is the official one, which is sort of like Hustler meets Praise You? If that makes any sense?
